P0rn0graphy Education:

We know that most teachers don’t want to talk about pornography in school.

But we do, so let us take it off your plate.

“Nuanced, Nerve-wracking, Never again!”

Ask teachers how they feel about having to discuss the harmful effects of p0rnography and you will get a variety of responses. Most understand the complexity of the issue and know it needs time and expertise. Many are nervous about the response from pupils and parents. Some simply wish someone else would do it.

We get it, and want to help.

We provide passionate and experienced educators who understand the issue and can help your school not just meet RSHE guidelines but release busy staff, engage embarrassed pupils, and start to see a cultural shift in attitudes towards relationships.

  • Government reports acknowledge that access to p0rnography has “completely changed the culture in the playground”, is having a “very corrosive impact within school” and has left “young people with a misguided representation of women, men, and sexual relationships.” (You may already have read the report.)

Do you feel under pressure and overwhelmed by this cultural shift?

Are you worried about the toxic attitudes and behaviours you are seeing in school?

You know your students deserve engaging, in-depth, and effective education on this complex and nuanced topic, but also know that additional time, training and resources are needed to address it.

Our lessons help pupils apply critical thinking skills towards p0rnography, sexual objectification, and media influences, and help your school shape a healthy relationship culture.

    LEARN MORE ABOUT THE ISSUE

  • A teacher arrives early to complete a report for her head of department. Just as she presses send, she remembers she has to deliver a 10-minute tutorial on p0rnography to her Year 11 form that morning. Frantically searching her inbox for the email from the PSHE Lead which contains helpful links and suggestions for teachers to talk about p0rn, she realizes that even with more time to prepare, the upcoming session would still be awkward and embarrassing. She recalls a recent conversation with a parent about “inappropriate sex education" and her head sinks into her hands. This is going to be a nightmare.

This scenario is problematic for everyone involved: the teacher, the PSHE lead, Ofsted or the ISI, and the Year 11s.

It's also all-too-familiar. We want to offer you a better option.

NT Education can assist your school in teaching p0rnography, enabling you to meet RSE guidelines while relieving your already busy staff. By booking our experienced team of educators to deliver one of our engaging presentations, you can rest assured that the topic will be presented with passion and expertise, allowing you and your colleagues to focus your attention on the numerous other tasks you need to accomplish.

    DISCOVER OUR SESSIONS

  • As a teacher, you want to both inform and inspire your students. RSE is no exception. You also know providing age-appropriate, up-to-date, thought-provoking content, particularly on a topic like p0rnography, can be challenging.

    Here’s how we can help.

Our sessions are clear on the harmful impacts of p0rnography and empower pupils to make healthy and informed choices. We use science and stories, engaging media, classroom activities and anonymous interactive technology to deliver age-appropriate and relevant sessions. In the past 10 years, we have delivered p0rnography education to nearly 100,000 pupils in hundreds of schools in a wide variety of contexts.

In short, we love the challenge of engaging pupils on this topic and our feedback tells us that pupils love it too.

That’s it! No need to pull together resources, motivate staff, or face embarrassed pupils. We will arrive at your school, plug into the AV, and deliver an engaging and interactive session.

“We've been working with NT Project for years now. They work with our Year 7s, 10s and 13s, and we are now at a stage where every child in the school has had at least one session with them. It has made a huge difference. The sessions are highly engaging and relevant, not patronising or cringey, and the educators who present them are approachable and well informed. The sessions empower students to make informed choices - they often go home and speak to their parents about the issues raised. Staff who have been present in the sessions also feel more able to broach the subject with students afterwards. If you want your students to sit up and listen about the impact of p0rnography on their lives and futures then NT schools workshops are a must in your calendar.”

Lesley Gray, Head of PSHE, St Albans School

"Too many young people are getting their sex education online from viewing p0rnographic films. Children need to be made aware of the risks of what they are doing, and schools have a role to play in this. Teachers and parents have a critical role to play. The schools work and parent workshops that Naked Truth offer are a useful resource.”

— Chief Constable Simon Bailey, National Police Lead for Child Protection

“This is a cultural issue; it's about attitudes and behaviours becoming normalised, and schools and colleges can't solve that by themselves. The government needs to look at the ease with which children can access p0rnography - but schools and colleges have a key role to play. They can maintain the right culture in their corridors, and they can provide relationship, sex, and health education that reflects reality and equips young people with the information they need."

- Amanda Spielman, OFSTED

  • We deliver sessions to Key Stages 3-5 and have age-appropriate sessions for Years 7 - 13. Find out more here.

If you would like to discuss a session with younger pupils, please get in touch.

  • We understand this a sensitive topic for parents and so we provide you with a template letter to send out, outlining who we are and what’s covered in the session you’ve booked. We can also deliver a parent workshop. Find out more about that here.

  • The N*ked Truth Project has been providing workshops for pupils and parents since 2014. In that time, we’ve delivered lessons to over 100,000 pupils and thousands of parents and have been featured on Radio 4 as an example of good practice for teaching on p0rnography. With educators based around the UK, we provide sessions in-person across the country, as well as live-streamed online sessions. Our wider international work includes professional counselling, coaching and addiction recovery for adults.
